From October, if you fill in a form on a website without a secure connection via an SSL certificate (the green padlock you see in the address bar), you’ll get a ‘not secure’ warning message. Equally, if you visit any page of a website without an SSL certificate in Incognito mode you’ll get the warning.
The new warning is part of a long term plan to mark all pages served over HTTP as ‘not secure’.
Warnings from the Chrome browser could severely damage conversion rates of your visitors, encouraging them not to get in touch with you should your website not have a secure connection.
If you haven’t got an SSL certificate on your website, feel free to speak to us today on 0800 084 3086 to get one installed.
