Google redesigns their “Ad” label

Google redesigns their “Ad” label
Spotted for the first time just a couple of weeks ago, Google have tweaked the label next to adverts within Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs).

As with almost every improvement to SERPs, Google have been experimenting with this one a fair bit over the past month. The new “Ad” label replaces the green background for a white background and a thin outline. Users may have seen it being used on some searches recently, and it has now been confirmed that it will be rolling out globally.

The green background label has only been used for around 8 months, with the label being yellow before this. The new style is said to be easier to read, and hasn’t affected users ability to distinguish between natural and paid search results.
