The Background

The Fragrance Lounge contacted us back in April. With over 15 years of retail experience, the Cheshire-based company supply a wide variety of stores from independent boutiques through to mainstream high street chains with leading home fragrance, stationery and gift brands. Their customers include Boots, Urban Outfitters and ASOS.

No longer just supplying fragrances, and with huge growth plans for the future, the entire business needed renaming, rebranding and an industry-leading eCommerce solution.

The Challenge

Following a few conversations, Kolodo were quickly appointed as the digital partner to the business. The new name was chosen, and we were briefed to design a new brand and eCommerce website for The Eclectic Lifestyle Company.

The new branding had to reflect the ethos of the business, the quality of the products and their focus on providing retailers and customers with the best quality products and highest level of customer service possible. The goal was a white, clean and modern look, and a flawless digital user experience to encourage purchases.

The Branding

Our team began by sketching branding ideas and putting together a board containing inspiration for the new logo and colour scheme. Following discussions with the client, we produced a handful of variations of the logo before choosing a final version.

With a logo and typeface developed, our creative team moved onto producing a colour scheme for the new website. The primary colours chosen reflect a luxury, trusted and modern ethos. The new branding was then rolled out across social media channels, stationary and packaging.

eCommerce Design & Build

With over 350 unique products with variations and tester packs, and high street brands ordering stock from the website on a daily basis, the eCommerce solution that was to be designed and developed for The Eclectic Lifestyle Company had to be bulletproof.

The website was designed bespoke by our creative team following the branding being produced, and then coded from the ground up and integrated with the WordPress content management system. WooCommerce has also been bolted on for easy product and order management.

Focussed on Speed, Mobile & User Experience

To ensure we maximise the conversion rate, our team have been consistently focussed on creating a flawless user experience. With this comes ensuring rapid load speed using advanced optimisation and caching techniques, and ensuring that the mobile experience is thumb-friendly and matches that of the desktop experience.

Related, Upsell and Cross-sell Products

The extensive product catalog in WordPress has been customised to allow for featured products, and products to be set as upsells and cross-sells of each other.

This functionality has been designed to increase the average order value, encouraging the purchase of similar or related products throughout the purchase process.

Customer Accounts

A key element of the website is that pricing, delivery information and the ordering facility aren’t available to the public. To become a stockist you’ll need to complete the sign-up section of the website before being set up with a customer account to allow you to log in.

Upon logging in, all information is available and you can then place an order for stock, which will be shipped to you via their 24 hour courier service. We’ve also extended the customer accounts allowing customers to view the progress of orders and re-order if they wish.

Order Management & Dispatch

With many customers placing orders online for stock, and the dispatch turnaround being so quick, it’s key that The Eclectic Lifestyle Company are notified of new orders and have a full order management system that also allows them to dispatch orders.

This links in with customer accounts, notifying them when orders have been dispatched, and allows them to track orders though their account.

Google Analytics is being constantly monitored by our marketing team to ensure results are as expected, and we're looking forward to working with The Eclectic Lifestyle Company long into the future.
