The URL inspection tool is a new capability that allows you to check a specific URL on your website, and determine how Google search sees that URL.
The Search Console will note whether the “URL is on Google,” index coverage, and AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) status. It will also offer suggestions on how to improve your results through an ‘enhancements’ section.
If your link does not appear, the tool will detail why whilst simultaneously providing a report of other pages affected by similar issues. This in turn, will track down any known ‘bugs’ within your page and address them accordingly.
Speaking of the new feature, Google said:
“This tool provides detailed crawl, index, and serving information about your pages, directly from the Google index. It will show the last crawl date, the status of that last crawl, any crawling or indexing errors and the canonical URL for that page. It will show if the page was successfully indexed, any AMP errors, structured data errors and indexing issues.”
