Four extraordinary wedding venues in Cheshire that needed a complete digital refresh in order to drive an increase in bookings.
Thornton Manor Estate is a grade II listed Elizabethan house built in the middle of the 19th century. Standing proudly in the village of Thornton Hough, it was originally built for Charles William Potts and occupied by the late Lord Leverhulme and his descendants until the year 2000.
With a truly unique setting in the midst of the Cheshire countryside, It is now used primarily as an exclusive wedding venue, having built an impeccable reputation over the past ten years.
Having expanded from a 19th century manor house into a four-venue estate covering 120 acres, Thornton Manor can accommodate between 30 and 2,000 guests, with accommodation facilities for up to 108 people.
With such an excellent level of service, we were approached by Thornton Manor in April this year to help them overhaul their digital marketing strategy, with the key performance indicator being an increase in footfall and ultimately, bookings.
Before we began, we conducted a Google Analytics audit, marketing and industry research, competitor research, audience profiling and a website structure and content review in order to produce a detailed, comprehensive ‘plan’ for improvement.
With the focus on achieving a positive ROI, we fixed our attention on calls-to-action and data-capture points across the website which were meticulously planned throughout both the design and development phases of the project.
Having been built from the ground-up in the WordPress content management system, the result was a fully-responsive website that perfectly positioned Thornton Manor Estate in the digital world. With the ability to book a viewing, download a brochure and enquire about accommodation online, the website promised diversity for each and every user.

To support the new platform, we worked with Thornton Manor to produce an all-encompassing digital marketing strategy that included content and social media management, an organic search engine optimisation strategy, a large Google Ads spend, and an on-going conversion rate optimisation strategy to ensure results remain at an optimum.
